Exodus 2: 1-10 and Acts 7:17-22
This account is of Moses' birth and how he escaped being killed with all the other newborn baby boys of Jews at the time. Also, J. Patterson Smythe in "Bible for School and Home" has a commentary on what growing up was like for Moses. He stayed with his mother until he was weaned, where he was taught God's dealings with people. After weaning, he went to live in the royal palace where he would learn reading and writing, unlike the other Jewish children of his time. He even attended college where he would learn higher thinking and military maneuvers.
Moses' calling and the hand of God was evident from his very birth. Interestingly, the commentary also mentioned that the princess of that time was childless and Moses' mother probably knew that. She would have deliberately selected the place to put the baby basket, so the princess would find him. Such courage! Also that the river had crocodiles who thought babies were delicious.
